Technical and Board Certification

Our Supervising Physicians are held to the highest of standards by our Chief Medical Officer who is a Board Certified Neurologist and a Cardiologist.  All of our Supervising Physicians are either Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology (or other relevant clinical areas) and Clinical Neurophysiology.

All Sentient IOM neurotechnologists hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in a health science related field; a two-year degree in Applied Science or a certificate from an accredited technology school is the minimum requirements for all Sentient Neurovascular technologists.

Both IOM and Neurovascular neurotechnologists undergo extensive (6 week academic and didactic) training at the Sentient Educational Institute in Fairfax, VA. All courses are approved by the American Society of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (ASET).  To ensure clinical competency, a detailed checklist has been developed by our staff in conjunction with ASET and is maintained on every neurotechnologist.  Sentient also requires all neurotechnologists to be Joint Commission compliant and to pass the following tests in support of our customer’s high standards:

  • Annual CPR and TB test
  • Age specific competency tests
  • Additional mandatory programs such as safety andinfection control
